Here at Soulfully Made, we believe that the best dishes are those shared with loved ones, full of laughter, stories, and the joy of togetherness. This cooking club is more than just a challenge; it’s a celebration of community and the beautiful moments we create around the table. I love the sense of community that comes from so many people cooking one recipe each month.

I hope you’ll join in the fun and give this one a try and see what your friends and family think. Here’s how it works:

July Cooking Club Recipe: Banana Pudding Dream Cake

  • This cake recipe is a super simple and easy summer dessert. The cake is dense with a super light and fluffy whipped cream icing. My family always wants me to make extra just for them to eat the icing.
  • It is the perfect dessert for your July 4th menu or summer BBQ, grilling, or entertaining. Why not make this for your Independence Day gathering and snap some photos for the challenge? And if you don’t get to make it for the holiday, it’s delicious all month long.
  • This was a spin-off of Chocolate Cake with Whipped Oreo Icing, which is a family favorite. My hubby, son, mom, and nephew always request I make it for their birthdays. Since I’ve made this one, they may be changing to team Banana Pudding Cake.
  • The first time you make this, I recommend sticking to the original because this combination is really delicious.
  • If you aren’t a fan of bananas, you can use another favorite pudding mix– like lemon (I love it with shortbread cookies), or a pistachio pudding mix. If you want to make another flavor mix or the Chocolate Oreo cake, you can also use those to enter.

Last Month’s Recipe and Winner

Here are some of the photos sent in from those who made the Strawberry Salad with Honey Vinaigrette!

One was made for a family vacation, one for a lady’s Bible study, and another group had a potluck at work- each person brought a different ingredient and it was served salad bar style. Then Julie T. served hers to a group of friends, and they all loved it.

A shout-out to our randomly picked winner, Betty – who “took an ordinary salad mix and made it some special for dinner.” She added a little onion to give it a bite.

This was a great turnout for our first challenge. Y’all spread the word and get your friends to join in this month with an easy Banana Cake Recipe!
