Instructions
Make the brownies according to the directions. In a 9x13 baking dish, the brownies will take 25 minutes to bake and 60 minutes to completely cool. Allow the brownies to cool completely. Cut into 2-3 inch cubes. Keep 1 ½ cups of brownie cubes set aside for the topping.
Make Cocoa Whipped Cream: In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, add 2 cups of heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and cocoa. Using a whisk attachment or electric hand mixer beat for 3-4 minutes or until you have stiff peaks, scraping the bowl with a spatula halfway through. Set aside.
Make Cheesecake Mixture: In a separate large bowl, add the cream cheese, ½ cup heavy whipping cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. With a hand mixer or stand mixer, mix for 2-3 minutes or until thoroughly mixed, scraping the bowl with a spatula halfway through.
Add the cocoa whipped cream to the cheese mixture. With a spatula, fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture. Fold until most of the streaks are gone.
LAYERS: In your trifle bowl layer in this order:1/3 of the brownies 3 tablespoons caramel 1/3 cup of the cheesecake filling Repeat this 3 times.
Top with the reserved 1 ½ cups of brownies and 3 more tablespoons of caramel.
Top with your favorite chocolates.
Notes
Pretty Layers– For clean and even layers, carefully add the ingredients using a rubber spatula or- even better- add the cheesecake filling to a piping bag and swirl from the inside out to form a perfectly even and presentable layer each time. No matter how you choose to do it, the key is to be gentle, so you don’t smush the layers into one another.
Fluffy Whipped Cream– For the perfect silky-smooth texture, don’t overmix the whipped cream and the cheesecake mixture.
Soften Ingredients– To make mixing easier, have the ingredients at room temperature before beginning, like the cream cheese.
Smaller Brownie Bites– If preferred, cut the brownies into 1-inch or 1 ½-inch squares instead for mini bites.
