Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract to a large mixing bowl. Use an electric hand mixer on medium speed to whip the cream into stiff peaks. This should take 3-5 minutes.If you want this layer a little sweet, add in ¼ to ½ cup powdered sugar when whipping the heavy cream.
Use a large fork or your hands to mash 12 Christmas tree cakes. Add half of the mashed cake mixture to the bottom of a large trifle dish, and then top it with 1/3 of your whipped cream.
Cover the whipped cream with all of the sliced strawberries. Top the fruit with another layer of whipped cream followed by the remaining cake and whipped cream.
Top the trifle with the sprinkles and last three Christmas tree cakes.
