These Monte Cristo Sliders have everything you love about the classic Monte Cirsto sandwich – a crispy exterior, warm layers of meat and cheese, and a dusting of powdered sugar – into shareable sliders that are perfect for any gathering!
Preheat the oven to 350. Lightly spray a baking dish with non-stick spray.
Slice the rolls in half, without separating them and place the bottom half in the baking dish.
Spread the jam over the bottom half of the rolls.
Then layer the ham and turkey next.
Finally, layer the cheese on top of the meat and place the tops of the rolls over the cheese.
In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, egg, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
Brush this mixture over the tops and sides of the rolls and cover loosely with foil, trying to not to let the foil touch the top of the rolls or it may stick. If you can’t get the foil to not touch the rolls, you can use toothpicks to help life the foil up higher or spray the foil.
Bake for about 15 minutes and then remove the foil and bake another 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
Cut sliders apart with a sharp knife and sprinkle with powdered sugar on top. Serve with extra jam, if desired.
Notes
Baking Dish Tip: A 9x13-inch baking dish works well, but expect some extra space around the sides.
Butter/Egg Sauce: While you don’t need to use all the butter and egg mixture, try to brush some along the sides of the sliders for extra flavor and a golden crust.
Jam Inside: If you're concerned about the rolls getting too soft, you can skip spreading jam inside and serve it on the side.
Deli Meat Prep: Make sure to pat the deli meats dry if they have moisture to avoid soggy rolls.
Cheese Options: If Swiss cheese isn’t your favorite, Muenster or provolone make great alternatives, though Swiss is the classic choice for a Monte Cristo.
